For printing, the M525dn offers a resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi for detailed documents and images along with a very fast print speed of 42 ppm. Also, it can produce the first page in as fast as 8.5 seconds to get started quickly as well as automatically produce duplex documents. Additionally, this unit offers Ethernet connectivity for networking and enabling support for Apple AirPrint and HP ePrint.

Scanning and copying benefit from the inclusion of a reversing ADF and a flatbed, both of which can handle documents up to 8.5 x 14" in size. The scanner itself uses a CCD sensor with an optical resolution of 600 dpi for high resolution imaging. Also, the reversing ADF will allow for double-sided operation.

Direct printing and scanning is possible thanks to the two host USB ports available on the unit. They allow users to quickly walk up and plug in a portable storage device. Also, it has a large, tilting 8.0" color LCD touchscreen for intuitive operation. Paper handling is good with a 600-sheet total capacity and a 50-sheet ADF as well as a monthly duty cycle of 75,000 pages. And, USB 2.0 connectivity is available for a basic connection to a computer.
